Pilgrimage Weekend 2019

To launch the series of reflective walks from the United Church of Bute to St Blane’s we are holding a weekend of events – 10th and 11th August 2019.

Saturday 10th August

Art Workshop – 10 am start.
The workshop run by Ruth Slater will offer 15 free places to local Bute residents interested in learning more about how to use art to capture emotions. To learn more go to the Church Facebook page.

Singing workshop and Shape Note Singing – 2 pm start
A visit from members of Shapenote Scotland, a group of people who come together for the joy of singing. Associated with pilgrimage, this form of singing is free and energetic.
This singing event is open to all, singers and non-singers.

Sunday 11th August

Pilgrimage Breakfast 9.30 am
Join us for breakfast of cereal, fruit, teas and coffee in the Church Centre.

Morning Worship 11 am
A special service focussing on the Celtic heritage associated with Kingarth.

Pilgrimage walk to Kingarth 12.30 pm
Bring your own packed lunch and suitable clothing and footwear then join us as we walk the Pilgrimage Routes from St Mary’s Chapel to St Blane’s church. A shorter walk for children and the less able from St Mary’s to Loch Fad and back will be provided.

Ecumenical Service at St Blane’s approximately 6 pm
A short service of thanksgiving and blessing will be held at the end of our pilgrimage. This is open to all – not just walkers.
