Welcome to Worship in the United Church of Bute

Sunday morning services

The 9.30 am Early Bird service is a informal family service held during July and August

The  11 am service is a traditional hour-long service and we are joined, during term time,  for the first 15 minutes by the young folk of Lighthouse (our Sunday School)

The evening service is held from September till June. It is informal and the format varies from week to week. It is led by the worship team and deacon in the new church hall at 7pm.

A service in held in the Port Bannatyne Village Hall on Tuesdays at 11.15 am. All welcome from 10.50 am when doors open for coffee and chat

The ancient chapel of St Blane is situated at the south end of the island. Ecumenical services are held at the chapel on an evening in July and shortly after sunrise on Easter Sunday

There are three formal services of Communion annually, in February, June and November. In addition, more informal Communion services are held at the evening service every month except July and August.

After every service we normally have a cup of tea or coffee in the hall to give an opportunity to chat.
There is also a Fair Trade stall after every Sunday morning service

Both church and hall are fitted with sound systems including induction loop.

Both church and hall are accessible for the disabled

We enjoy excellent relations with churches of other denominations on the island and Joint Churches Evening Services are held quarterly and during Holy Week with the service visiting each church in turn
