Owain's Induction

 

Induction of Rev J Owain Jones MA, BD, FSAScot

The induction of Rev. John Owain Jones, MA, BD into the charge of the United Church of Bute
was held on Saturday 26th February at 2 pm.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Officiating members of Prebytery (Mr ian Maclagan, Presbytery Clerk, Rev Robert K Mackenzie, Moderator and Rev Andrew Barrie and members of Presbytery from Appin to Kintyre and Mull to Dunoon were joined by a representative from the Presbytery of Paisley and Greenock and clergy from the Scottish Episcopal Church, Roman Catholic Church and Salvation Army, not to mention a congregation of around 300 which included members of all Bute churches and  Kilbarchan East Church

The sun shone on Bute that day

the new hall was decorated with Welsh flags, red dragons and daffodils (lucky they were in season) and there were copious amount of food to sustain us before we returned to the church

for presentations and entertainment

On Sunday 27th February, Owain was preached in by his brother Mr Gethin Jones
